How It Works

It starts with an Associative Matrix, which connects and counts things.  A matrix is created for each “term” – person, place, event, action, and outcome – and it stores all the co-incident triples of associations of every term to every other.  Plus, each matrix represents the found frequencies of links among the terms, not just the mere existence of some connection or similarity.

Queries of matrices recollect all the variable semantic links, as well as the statistical frequencies of those links, creating a “network” of associative matrices, containing millions … indeed billions … of memories.  It works because matrix methods co-locate all the information about each entity into one place, providing unparalleled efficiency and query speed.

Many matrices with many associative triples can quickly aggregate to become massive semantic networks, and the information – or now, the Experience – can be readily exploited, no matter how massive the data grows.  Factor in associative frequencies, and SaffronMemoryBase stores yet more information about each of the semantic links, capturing the “oomph” or meaning of each, not just the fact of their existence in the data.
